About Dr. Carl Spivak, Neurosurgeon and Pain Specialist
Dr. Carl Spivak is a board certified Neurosurgeon and President of Executive Spine Surgery P.C. His practice, Executive Spine Surgery, is located in Newton, New Jersey. His clinical interests are interventional and minimally invasive spinal surgery. He is well known for his conservative minimally invasive approach and innovative cutting edge endoscopic spinal techniques.
Dr. Spivak received his medical degree from the University of Winnipeg in Canada. He continued his training at the University of Saskatchewan, where he completed his residency in Neurological Surgery. He then finished a Complex Spine and Peripheral Nerve Surgery Fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center and Minimal Invasive Spine Surgery and Interventional and Surgical Pain Management at Semmes-Murphey Neurologic and Spine Institute in Memphis, TN.
Dr. Spivak is a member of numerous prestigious medical organizations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He speaks and trains at many courses and conferences across the world as well.
His interest in clinical research has led to publications in the Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences and the Journal of Neurosurgery, as well as numerous presentations at national scientific meetings including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Canadian Congress of Neurological Sciences.
He has trained medical students and residents and held faculty positions at Stanford Medical School, Albany Medical School and Columbia Medical School. He is a consultant for JOIMAX (JOIned Minimal ACCess Technologies) and enjoys educating and training surgeons in endoscopic treatment of spinal disorders.
